#Indigenous Land Acknowledgement and Reparations Pledge

*******Note: This pledge does NOT support non-Indigenous artists making a profit from historical trauma or stolen land. It DOES support adding land acknowledgement awareness in artmaking  and reparations by shifting a percentage of an artist's profits to Indigenous-led land stewards.

I, Megan Driving Hawk of MDH ArtIsTry, do not monitor transactions and donations. This pledge is based on an honor system. It is up to the collector and artist to work out a "proof of donation" system. This list of artists is a starting point and not in any way an extensive list. The intention of this pledge is to shift money to Indigenous-led land stewards and start a conversation surrounding Indigenous land,
reparations, and reciprocity.
Artists:
If you would like to participate in the pledge,  please use #IndigenousLandAcknowledgmentAndReparationsPledge and #ILAARP on Instagram. Additionally, you may also fill out the google form below providing information about your pledge to be added to the list of participants for collectors.

Collectors:
Would you like your dollars to support Indigenous Land Acknowledgment and Reparations?

The best option is to buy straight from Indigenous Artists and donate to Indigenous-led land stewards. You can start by looking at the Indigenous beaders listed HERE and the organizations listed on this page.

Additionally, you can support land acknowledgment and reparations by buying from non-Indigenous artists who pledge to support Indigenous-led land stewards when their artwork is sold. You can find a list of non-Indigenous artists who have made this pledge below.
